Santa Cruz will be at GastroCanarias 2023 with nearly thirty activities
During this edition of GastroCanarias 2023, Santa Cruz will position the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz, the enhancement of products from Anaga, the island of Tenerife and the Canary Islands.
Santa Cruz will participate with up to 28 activities of different kinds in the 8th Canary Islands Gastronomic Fair, GastroCanarias 2023, in order to position the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz and the promotion of products from Anaga, the island of Tenerife and the Canary Islands.
In this way, the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will have a large stand at GastroCanarias, which will take place from May 23 to 25 at the fairgrounds of the capital of Tenerife, where it will hold talks, showcookings, round tables and networkings, in addition to promoting and disseminating the news of the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination.
GastroCanaria Program
This extensive program is part of Action Line 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga in the heart – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF – A way of doing Europe) and has the support of the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz.
These activities, which will take place from Tuesday to Thursday from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm, will be held at a stand with the Anaga Massif as the protagonist and will also showcase local products for tasting, the gastronomic richness of this biosphere reserve.
In this regard, on Tuesday 23 will take place the presentation of the action plan of the Product Club Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination, and which will detail the gastronomic program of the City of Santa Cruz in execution during this 2023. In this way, this program seeks to encourage and promote local products and businesses under the slogan “Anaga Smart Destination”.
Likewise, during the three days of GastroCanarias 2023, a pre-registration point for the Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination Product Club will be set up at the Santa Cruz stand for gastronomic establishments in the city that wish to join.

On the other hand, the stand of the capital of Tenerife will host eight showcookings, all of them with tasting included, and with some of the most renowned chefs of the city, among which are Nacho Solana, from La Fula GastroMar; José Francisco Álvarez, from Está Rico; Carlos Valencia, from Beers; or Alberto González Margallo, from San Sebastián 57, among others; in addition to two gastronomic samples of Jóvenes Talentos 2023 by the students of CIFP Virgen de Candelaria and Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz.
For this new edition of GastroCanarias 2023, Santa Cruz also continues to make a firm commitment to sustainability and local products, with talks such as “Ecotourism – El Albergue Project”, “Recovery of coffee and tropical fruit trees in the Anaga Massif”, “Artisanal Fishing Territory of Anaga”, “Maipé de Taganana – Viñátigo Wine Project”, “On the boat, healthy cuisine to take away” or “Ecotourism, Anaga Biofest Project”, among others. In addition to the round table “Cooking the territory ‘From the massif to the table’, on one of the star products of Anaga, the sweet potato.
There will also be some talks aimed at analyzing the latest trends in gastronomy, such as “Japanese Revolution, a booming trend?” given by chefs from the Koi, Kazoku and Aila Tei restaurants; or “The Gourmet Burger Phenomenon”, with chefs from the Beers and Está Rico restaurants; in addition to the round table “Hedonism or flavor? The importance of image in today’s gastronomy”.
Meeting with producers
Finally, the stand of the capital of Tenerife will hold several working meetings with producers from Santa Cruz that will provide attendees with tastings of cheeses, wines and other local products and the Anaga massif, thus providing an ideal showcase to make themselves known to other companies in the sector.
This new edition is preceded by the success of GastroCanarias 2022, where the stand of Santa Cruz de Tenerife also had an extensive program of talks, debates and showcookings, as well as more than half a thousand attendees during the three days.
