More than 50 restaurants in Santa Cruz participate in the “Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña” (Sea and Mountain Tapas Route).
This new gastronomic event in the capital will allow you to enjoy a tapa and a drink for 4 euros, and will remain active until December 3.
The “Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña”, promoted by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, has started this Thursday in more than 50 catering establishments in the municipality. This was announced by the CEO of the Development Company, Carmen Pérez, who explained that “as part of the work of promoting and disseminating the gastronomy of Chicharras, we are starting with a new route of the tapa, this time dedicated to products from the sea and the mountains”.
In this sense, Perez reported that “the gastronomic proposals must be made with products of the Canary Islands, local products, and / or the Anaga Massif and must have a name and description,” and added that “the operation will be similar to previous editions, that is, tapa with drink at a price of 4 euros”.
“We have again a webapp already operational in www.degustalatapasantacruz.com, where we centralize all the information of this new route, where you can consult the participating establishments, schedules, location, ingredients and where you can also vote for the best gastronomic proposals” said Perez. The CEO of the Development Company stressed that “this voting system will determine the three best tapas, which will be distinguished with a diploma, and we will also reward three users who register their votes through the webapp“.
“Among the more than fifty tapas, some stand out such as Auyama Real Food, which consists of a small timbale based on sweet potato and cod crumbs with caramelized onion, with a pico de gallo and a touch of EVOO, cilantro and balsamic vinegar; or Kazoku Izakaya, which consists of red tuna tartar, marinated in tamarind jam, creamy avocado, tartufata and topping of masago arare pearls” explained Pérez, who added that “there is a wide variety of proposals with a very high quality, so we encourage citizens to taste these elaborations”.
“In the last edition almost 60 establishments of Santa Cruz participated and the webapp. registered more than 14,600 visits, more than 2,600 unique users were counted, and almost 1,000 votes were cast to determine the winning gastronomic proposals, so this technological solution once again proved to be a very useful tool,” said Carmen Pérez, who concluded by encouraging the network of gastronomic establishments in the capital to join the Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña “as it is an additional way of promoting their premises and positioning themselves before thousands of potential consumers”.
The “Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña” is included in the Action Line 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga in the heart – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE) 2014 – 2020, and by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
