LA RECOVA

We have already talked about the Market of Our Lady of Africa. A place of reference in the capital, to find the freshest products. LA ALEGRÍA DE LA HUERTA ASSOCIATION

If you want to make the most authentic immersion and learn about the productive activity in the heart of the municipality, you have to know La La Alegría de la Huerta Association. A farm of more than 10,000 m2 located in the neighborhood of La Alegria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife where members are offered plots of land to tend their own vegetable gardens for self-consumption. The Finca, which has been registered in the register of Organic Agriculture Producers of the Government of the Canary Islands since 2012.

In parallel, they also offer as complementary activities to the gardens, workshops, talks and events related to organic farming, environmental care, healthy habits and cultural issues.

Located in a plot of 1800 m2 in the neighborhood of Añaza, The Solidarity Urban Garden is a parish initiative whose objective is that families, neighbors and those interested in agriculture learn to observe and actively participate in the natural processes of planting, growing, caring for, harvesting and preserving various agricultural crops. In addition to having productive purposes, it has an educational and social content, helping to strengthen integration and teamwork, to recover self-esteem, to promote healthy eating habits and to help feed people and families with social vulnerability.
