Cafetería Bahía won first prize, while Refugio de Las Ánimas and García Bar won second and third prize, respectively.
The “Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña”, promoted by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Town Council, in which more than 50 catering establishments in the municipality took part, now has its winners. This was announced by the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, who explained that “on this occasion the first prize went to the Cafetería Bahía, the Refugio de las Ánimas won second prize, while the García Bar won third prize”.
In this sense, Perez reported that “these establishments were the ones that obtained the best ratings through the webapp enabled for the occasion” and added “for two weeks, neighbours, neighbours and tourists had the opportunity to make a culinary tour throughout the city, through the tapas made with ingredients of local origin and / or the islands, which merged with the creativity of each establishment and that has been a success.
Likewise, Pérez highlighted that “the proposal of Cafetería Bahía called Enyesque de los Roques; the Refugio de las Ánimas with the tapa called ‘Gambón sobre bacalao tibio surfeando frutos de la huerta’ and that of García Bar with the tapa called ‘Ensaladilla de batata y bacalao’, were the ones that obtained the best ratings on the webapp” and added “we are very satisfied with this edition, in fact, the webapp registered more than 6,600 visits, there were almost 3,600 visits, there were almost 3,000 visits to the webapp and there was a total of 3,000 visits to the webapp. In fact, the webapp registered more than 6,600 visits, almost 3,000 registered users and nearly half a thousand votes that determined the winning gastronomic proposals of this edition”.
“This edition focused on sea and mountain dishes with products from the Anaga Massif, and consisted of a tapa and drink for 4 euros” said Pérez, who added that “on this occasion, three users who registered their votes through the webapp were also awarded prizes, and will receive a voucher worth 50 euros to enjoy in any of the gastronomic establishments registered on the route”.
“We must highlight the effort and the great quality of the proposals presented by all the participating establishments, which we must also thank”, explained Pérez, who added that “as well as the winners, there were some outstanding ones such as Auyama Real Food, which consisted of a small timbale based on sweet potato and cod crumbs with caramelised onion, with a pico de gallo and a touch of EVOO, coriander and balsamic vinegar; or that of Kazoku Izakaya, which consisted of red tuna tartar, marinated in tamarind marmalade, creamy avocado, tartufata and a topping of masago arare pearls”.
Likewise, the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, recalled that “the restaurant sector accounts for almost 10% of the economy of Santa Cruz, is one of the most dynamic sectors of the capital and is a benchmark in terms of the quality values it represents” and added that “according to our data, Santa Cruz currently has 1,193 restaurant establishments, so it is a pillar of the economy of Santa Cruz and from the City Council we also want to help to boost it, to generate economy, hence we celebrate this type of initiative”.
The “Ruta de la Tapa Mar y Montaña” is included in Action Line 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga in the heart – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in the framework of the Pluri-regional Operational Programme of Spain (POPE) 2014 – 2020, and by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
