Santa Cruz starts the “Around the World” tapa route with more than 60 establishments
This gastronomic initiative, promoted by the Sociedad de Desarrollo y Zona Centro, will last until January 5 and aims to highlight the gastronomy of the capital.
The Development Society and the commercial association Zona Centro are promoting the “Around the World” tapa route, in which more than 60 establishments in the capital of Tenerife have already registered. This has been communicated by the CEO of the Development Company, Alfonso Cabello, who notes that “this gastronomic proposal will be in force from December 10 until January 5 and aims to highlight the gastronomy of Santa Cruz”.
In this regard, Cabello explained that “on this occasion, both from the Development Society and from the association Zona Centro, we have decided to launch this route of the cover, which includes cover plus drink for 4 euros and whose details can be consulted through a mobile app that we have developed in order to meet the new restrictions issued by the authorities in terms of capacity and schedules, facilitating those who wish to consume their cover on the premises or to take away”.
Cabello reports that “in the mobile app, which is free and can be downloaded from www.rutalavueltaalmundo.com.He added that “in addition, the mobile app offers the possibility that these tapas can be rated by the public, in order to make visible the wide gastronomic offer available in our city”.
“We are aware of the difficulties in which we are immersed, both citizens and the business community, but from the City Council we are launching many actions to encourage consumption” stressed Cabello, who noted that “to avoid crowds, the mobile app is very useful, as you can plan a visit to one or more establishments until next January 5, and choose to take it locally or take it home”.
“As a public administration, we must stress the importance of appealing to the responsibility of citizens, but we must also attend to the commercial and catering fabric of the city and we are pleased that more than 60 establishments have decided to participate in this route of the tapa, offering a wide gastronomic proposal that will allow to visit many countries without leaving the heart of Tenerife,” said the councilman delegate.
For his part, the vice president of Zona Centro, Carlos Quintero, said that “from Zona Centro we have bet from minute one for this action in order to value our gastronomy, and that combines with the digitization of the sector, so necessary at this time, through a simple but effective app” and stressed that “we are aware of the need to carry out safe actions to avoid unnecessary crowds, betting above all for the health and welfare of our customers”.
Among the wide variety of proposals, themed by country, stand out the tapas of El Águila, called “De la Huerta Canaria a Casa” and whose ingredients are piquillo peppers stuffed with boletus of La Esperanza with seasonal vegetables plus beer, soft drink, glass of wine or water; or that of the cafeteria El Bahía, which will have the tapa “Morriña Do Camiño Galicia”, consisting of mellow rice with oxtail and scallops, with aioli and black garlic, plus beer, wine, soft drink or water.
