Nearly fifty Santa Cruz restaurants receive the Travelers’ Choice Award 2022

The Traveler’s Choice Award list is headed by Etéreo by Pedro Nel and includes two restaurants that were present in the capital’s exhibition pavilion at GastroCanarias, La Verdulería and Solana.

A total of 49 restaurants in Santa Cruz have been awarded the Travelers’ Choice Award 2022, granted by Tripadvisor based on reviews and opinions provided by users. The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, said that “this recognition highlights the quality of the gastronomic offer of the municipality, claiming the hotel and catering sector as one of the main tourist attractions of the city”.

Bermúdez congratulated all the awarded establishments “for their commitment to quality, excellence and diversity, since among the restaurants that make up this list we can find from Canarian to Japanese, Italian or Mediterranean food” and remarked that “for some years we have been developing the project ‘Degusta Santa Cruz’ with the aim of publicizing the gastronomy of our city, and these awards encourage us to continue with this line of work”.

For his part, the CEO of the Development Company, Alfonso Cabello, explained that “the establishments that receive this award are those that are part of the top 10% of the most highly rated on Tripadvisor” and specified that “the winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings posted over a 12-month period.”

Cabello also noted that recently, “GastroCanarias has once again served as a showcase for the hospitality industry in our city, where we have presented a comprehensive program based on local produce and sustainability” and stressed that “two of the restaurants participating in our exhibition pavilion performing showcookingsLa Verdulería and Solana have been included in this list, something we are especially proud of.

“The restaurant that tops the list is Etéreo by Pedro Nel, located at Calle San Antonio 63, and that after 888 opinions continues to maintain a five out of five in the rating,” reported the mayor, adding that “complete the top 5 restaurants D’Tapas 26, El Porrón Tasca Andaluza, Cacio e Pepe and Mundo Ibérico; in addition, in ‘Degusta Santa Cruz’ we have up to 24 of the 49 restaurants that appear on the list.”
