At the disposal of the little ones

There are several options we have to have fun with the youngest. We could spend a day at Las Teresitas beach, ideal for them because of its calm waters and fine sand. If you liked the idea of the water, there is another option, the Maritime Parklocated just at the other end of the city. Designed by the majorero César Manrique, it invites you to disconnect and invest a whole day.

If you don’t feel like soaking, right next door is the Palmetuma park that attracts a lot of attention to the little ones and that usually has events dedicated to children. From the Palmetum you can see perhaps the most important building in the city today, the Auditorio de Tenerife. In its halls there are usually concerts dedicated to minors, but it is not the only cultural center that thinks about them… The El Tanque Cultural Centerapart from its exhibitions, It is rare that on weekends I do not dedicate activities to children, who are usually quite impressed by the hollow, with its echo, which has been taken advantage of this former refinery facility.

One of the jewels of the island, the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, has as a permanent fixture the MiniTeaa delightful place that offers daily different activities to bring out the most creative side of the new generations.

A museum that exhibits, among other things, giant models of insects, marine animals found in the islands, a meteorite or mummies is a place that children like to go to, that place is the MUNA.

But tanks, helicopters, uniforms or pirates usually attract the same attention, and even more so if that pirate can be visited in a dark dungeon…. the Almeyda Museum of Military History is also a stop you will appreciate https://patrimoniocultural.defensa.gob.es/es/centros/museo-militar-canarias/portadaAnd if you like castles, there is a route that shows the fortresses that defended the city in the past.

What if we want to breathe fresh air? Any of the city’s parks, especially the García Sanabria, are designed for them, with many swings and areas where they can play and interact, as in the Plaza de España, where with luck they will find remote-controlled boats sailing in the fountain and where they are sure to have fun in the playground dedicated to the 25th of July.
