This is one of the beaches of Taganana and is sheltered by the hamlet that gives it its name. This black sand beach has a strong swell throughout the year and therefore you should be cautious if you want to enjoy swimming. It is because of this swell that Alm\u00e1ciga beach is ideal for surf lovers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The hamlet, which has the same name as the beach, is a small group of agricultural houses with a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Bego\u00f1a. The story tells us that, in the middle of the last century, some pilgrims from Bilbao threw a bottle with the image of this virgin into the sea, while they were making the journey to Santiago de Compostela. The bottle arrived intact eight months later on the shores of Alm\u00e1ciga and its then neighbors responded to the message. After this exchange and as a present, the villagers of Alm\u00e1ciga received an image of the Virgin of Bego\u00f1a and made her the patron saint of the place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The neighboring beach, which is called Roque de las Bodegas, is a very coquettish beach of black sand, with a familiar tinge due to the fact that the swell is less than in Alm\u00e1ciga or Benijo beaches. This beach has a picturesque pier on a rock that juts out into the sea. It is highly recommended to spend the day and enjoy a well-deserved dip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">If you visit any of these beaches and do not want to make long trips, very close you can go to the restaurants that offer, in addition to excellent food, unbeatable views.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Restaurante Playa Casa \u00c1frica: located in Roque Las Bodegas and its menu can be consulted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.restaurantecasaafrica.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s2\">www.restaurantecasaafrica.com<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a>. Its dishes are varied and are included in the Mediterranean cuisine and seafood dishes, in short, Canarian food quality and good value for money.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Another restaurant in the area is La Ola, famous for its rice and seafood. Also the restaurant Los Roques de Anaga Casa Pepe, on the main road to Anaga.<\/span>was from Alm\u00e1ciga.
