The Mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Berm\u00fadez, stated this morning that the constitutive meeting of the Board for the Recovery and Stability of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, formed by social agents, trade unions, employers, University, municipal technicians, political parties and prestigious professionals, “is the first step to consolidate social dialogue and develop actions to help mitigate the consequences of this crisis on the local economy and on thousands of families in Santa Cruz”.<\/p>\n
Berm\u00fadez emphasized that this advisory body of the municipal government team “is born with the urgent need, once the figures and the analysis have been presented, to advocate for a thorough legislative review that will increase the fiscal attractions, attract private investment, with the establishment of companies and generate enough employment to reactivate the economy of families”.<\/p>\n
The mayor insisted that “we believe that citizens demand unity of action by public managers and social agents, so it is time to put aside the differences, putting all the senses in the design of alternatives and working collectively in the economic and social reconstruction of this city and its neighborhoods”.<\/p>\n
Berm\u00fadez explained today that this situation affects all social and economic strata of the city “so it must be analyzed and faced, equally, by representatives of all areas, from the political, to the economic, the researcher, or the social; all must be involved in defining the guidelines to achieve this recovery”.<\/p>\n
The Bureau was created on two basic axes: “the reactivation of the economy in the city (…), with a clear reflection in the maintenance and creation of employment, and the strengthening of social protection systems”, as already stated in the Mayor’s decree of October 6. That is why “representatives of the economic, trade union, social, third sector, business, political, and island and regional administrations” are in the same.<\/p>\n
Berm\u00fadez also said that “the conclusions of the different working groups will be so relevant that their contributions will serve as guidelines for drawing up the budgets for 2021”, the mayor added.<\/p>\n
It will include, among others, the mayor and councilors of the government group, members of the rest of the parties represented in the Consistory, workers and heads of the different municipal areas, trade unions, business organizations, the Official Chamber of Commerce, the Third Sector Platform of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands and an expert proposed by the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
